Theodoor is designed for most residential swing doors. However it still might work on some commercial doors. We are in development of systems that unlatch any door. To see if our current system works fill out this form.

The spring-loaded wheel is designed for hardwood, tile, carpet, and common transitions such as doormats. The bottom of the Doorbot must be within 1.5 inches of the floor or carpet so the wheel can maintain traction. Unusual floor transitions should be reviewed before installation.

No. The current system is for interior doors and inward-swinging primary entry doors. It is not designed for storm doors, sliding doors, gates, outward-swinging exterior doors, or outdoor exposure.

The current system is designed primarily for residential doors. Some commercial doors may work, but heavy fire doors, strong closers, mortise locks, and hospital-style doors require a custom assessment.

Theodoor installs in under 5 minutes with a standard Phillips-head screwdriver. The Latchbot reuses existing latch-plate screws, the Doorbot mounts with high-strength adhesive, and the system plugs into a standard outlet. Standard installation requires no cutting, wall drilling, or electrician; screws are available for a permanent Doorbot mount.

Theodoor is designed to be removed and moved to another door after a new compatibility review, but damage-free removal cannot be guaranteed. Old or poorly adhered paint may peel. Before reinstalling, remove the used tape, clean the surface, and apply fresh high-strength double-sided tape.

The current system includes the Doorbot (door opener), Latchbot (latch unlock), and two Bluetooth buttons.

Alexa is available as an optional beta add-on for customers who have Wi-Fi and want to test it. Standard operation uses the two included Bluetooth buttons and does not require Wi-Fi.

Yes! The Theodoor app is in beta and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. It works with Bluetooth just like the included buttons to open the door.

Yes. Keep using your existing manual deadbolt, and unlock it before activating Theodoor. The current system operates the door latch and moves the door; it does not operate the deadbolt.

Yes. The door remains fully usable as a manual door during a power outage. The current Theodoor system does not include battery backup power. Battery backup will be included in a future release.

The replaceable coin-cell battery typically lasts more than a year. The button can be opened when the battery needs replacement.

Yes. The opening angle and hold-open duration can be adjusted using controls on the app which is in beta.

While opening, Theodoor stops and holds when it encounters resistance; a gentle nudge can continue the movement. While closing, it stops and disengages so the door can move manually with no added resistance.

In practice, the wheel picks up very little debris because it touches the floor only while the door is moving and lifts off the surface when stationary.

Theodoor is in limited early access and is not yet available for broad public sale. Early-access units are expected to cost around $1,999. Visit the Early Access page to join the waitlist and see current availability.

A purchased pilot unit may be returned for any reason within 30 days after delivery for a full refund of the purchase price. The pilot also receives a two-year limited warranty covering eligible defects and functional failures during normal use on a Doorbotics-approved door, plus one complete-unit replacement for accidental damage.

Depending on the issue, Doorbotics may troubleshoot, provide parts, repair, replace, or refund. Coverage does not include loss, theft, intentional damage, misuse, unauthorized changes, or use on a different or unapproved door. The door must remain manually operable, and Theodoor must not be the only means of emergency access or egress. Contact hello@doorbotics.com to request support, a return, repair, or replacement.

Yes. It can be temporarily mounted on a Doorbotics-approved demo or lab door so visitors can see it operate without sending the unit out on loan. Multiple Theodoor pilots have been installed in state lending libraries.
