Introducing Theodoor

Theodoor automatically unlatches, opens, and closes swing doors. It installs in minutes without any home modifications and is easily removable.

No drilling and cutting
No electrician required
Portable and relocatable

Why Theodoor?

Aging in place breaks at the front door. For millions of people with mobility challenges, something as simple as opening a door means waiting for someone else to help, or paying thousands for a permanent door opener installation. Our portable product installs in 5 minutes and can be redeployed as needs change, giving people independence and the ability to fully access their home.

Plug and Play Installation

Standard installation uses existing latch-plate screws and adhesive—no cutting, wall drilling, or electrician required.

Removable as Needs Change

Easily removed and relocated, so independence can move with people as their care needs change.

Simple, Smart, & Safe

Activate with a Bluetooth key fob or Theodoor app (no Wi-Fi required). With Wi-Fi works with Alexa. Automatically stops when encountering an obstacle.

Zero-Resistance Manual Use

When not in use, the system disengages completely so the door feels like a normal door. No drag. No added force.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will Theodoor work on my door?

Theodoor is designed for most residential swing doors. However it still might work on some commercial doors. We are in development of systems that unlatch any door. To see if our current system works fill out this form.

Can I still lock my door?

Yes. Keep using your existing manual deadbolt, and unlock it before activating Theodoor. The current system operates the door latch and moves the door; it does not operate the deadbolt.

Does Theodoor work with Alexa?

Alexa is available as an optional beta add-on for customers who have Wi-Fi and want to test it. Standard operation uses the two included Bluetooth buttons and does not require Wi-Fi.
